What Recession?

I know the recession is still here and there are a lot of people still suffering financially.

It is interesting, however, to hear that many people are saying that we are well on our way to a recovery.  Looking around at neighbors, friends, and family…it is not that obvious.  People are still being more tight with their money and more careful than I have ever witnessed in the past.

This is a good thing!  Whether we are on our way to a recovery or not.  People, in general, have relied on credit too much in the past and have felt overly secure in their job positions.  I am not glad that the recession happened, but something needed to happen to OPEN EYES!

Fortunately, having my own business, I am not worried about being laid off and may even help contribute to the recovery as my business grows and may require me to hire assistants.  Having been a teacher for so long, I am glad I made the decision a couple of years ago to start my own business and work at it while still teaching.  It puts me in a great position now and in the future.

I look forward, in the coming months to help other people put themselves in the same postion that I have.  Recession or not, we have a lot more control than we thing.  As long as we take control and take action.

As Summer Ends…

As labor day marks the traditional end of summer, many people will be looking at getting back to serious work in the upcoming weeks.  We may be slightly climbing out of a recession at this time, but a lot of people I have spoke with do not have the confidence in their J-O-B-S that they once did.

It looks like the home business industry, like mlm, network marketing, and direct sales is going to grow exponentially in the coming months due to a lack of confidence in traditional careers.  Now is a great time to start searching for a company that can give you the security you are looking for.

A suggestion…don’t join the first company you come across just because you have heard of them before.  Many people will start home businesses during this last quarter, but a big percent of them will fail.  The reason they will fail is due to the lack of knowledge they have about having a home business.  It is important to make sure that the training, education, and tools are in place to make people that have no experience, successful.

Success is out there, and it is absolutely amazing, once you achieve it.  Join a community of entrepreneurs that can provide the appropriate training and tools to make you successful.

Why Do Home Businesses Fail?

There are so many people right now looking to start a home business.  More people now and in the next couple of years than in any time in history will be looking to start a home business, whether a franchise, mlm, or direct sales.  Why, then, with all of the possibilities, is there such a high failure rate?
I believe the answer is education.  People from many different background are looking for something secure that they can do from home to supplement or replace their current income because they no longer trust that their jobs are secure.  But they are going into these business without the proper education and training to have a chance at success.
There are many good companies with great products that can have the potential to make people a lot of money, but without the proper education and training, most people are destined to failure.  There are some companies that have a built in training and education program that teaches new people, no matter their background how to be successful.  But these companies are the exception and not the rule.
Success for home business owner is out there and it is very real, but one must do their due diligence and find the companies that offer the kind of training and education that have proven results and offer the toos and education for people coming from a variety of backgrounds.
To see a company that I have found meets this criteria, go to

Can MLM And Network Marketing Really Make You Rich?

There are MLM and Network Marketing opportunities flooding the internet everywhere these days.  From popular ones that have been around for years to companies that are in prelaunch and promising to make those that get in early a fortune.  The question then is, can MLM and Network Marketing Really Make You Rich?

According to Maryjean Howe, “really only the top 3% make any significant money with MLM and Network Marketing”.  Howe is a former teacher and has worked with a few mlm companies for the past couple of years.  Recently, she has become a leader with her company and attributes it to their vision.  “After joining and becoming one of 97% who fail at MLM, I joined a company that teaches you how to be successful by using the tools that the top earners in this industry use to make their millions”, says Howe, “This has created a significant difference in my success”.

After realizing that she did not have the experience and skills that one must possess to be successful in this industry, Howe joined with a company whose focus is on providing that training and the necessary tools.  “I now feel like I can join any MLM or Network Marketing company and make a killing”, says Howe, “but the products and commission structure of the one I am in currently, along with all the training, is something I plan to stay with and introduce other struggling network marketers to”.

Most MLM and Network Marketing companies want you to make a list of family and friends and start by trying to recruit those people into the business, but there are many other ways to build a business and find people who want the same things you do.  “I am not only building a successful business, but I am helping other people fulfill their dreams”, says Howe.

What Is Leadership—Really?

What Is Leadership—Really?

There is a lot of talk these days about being a leader and what attributes define a leader, but there are a lot of people out there claiming to be leaders who are not.

Just putting on your website or telling other people that you are a leader does not make it so.  To be a leader, you must have people who actually think of you that way because of your relationships and actions.  I have been involved in several MLM and Direct Sales companies and did not have the foresight to look for a good leader before joining under them.  This can be very detrimental to your business if you have no experience and are looking for someone to lead by example and lead by communication.  Fortunately, I have enough drive and motivation to push past this obstacle and, as a result, become a leader myself.  Don’t get me wrong, I am not a leader just because I say I am, but my actions with my team members make me that leader.

If you are out there saying that you are a leader, at least take some steps to actually become one, such as:

1)      Communicate frequently with your members

2)      Be available to your members to answer questions

3)      Take action in your own business (members will do what you do, not what you tell them to do)

4)      Help your members to achieve success, not because it will benefit you, but because it will benefit THEM.

5)      Keep learning.  Do not underestimate the new information that is available on a daily basis.  Always keep up with the latest.

6)      Attend all events and encourage, or expect, your members to do the same.

It is very frustrating to see all of the people out there claiming to be leaders and when it comes down to it, they just do not do what leaders do.  I can add to this list quite a bit, but this is a good starting point for any leader.

Marketing Difficulties

I am finding it frustrating to keep up with the changes in the search engines requirements to advertise.  It seems everytime I get my lead flow up, google changes something and my quality score goes down.

It is very much like a game, however, and I thrive on winning.  So if the search engines want to keep changing the rules, I will just keep working to make sure I am on the winning side of their changes.  If I am constantly trying to do this while others are not, I will always win…and so will my team.

Home Business Push

As I sit here on the last day of May, I am looking at what goals I have for my home business for the summer months.  Summer does tend to slow things down as people are going on vacation and doing more things outside with their families.

I think it is important that one must keep up on new marketing strategies as well as continue to use the marketing strategies that have been working for their home business.  It is very easy to see this slow down and want to slow down as well, but the marketing that you do today, will let you continue to grow your home business financially and it will be the foundation which drives your success in the much busier fall months.

Is Twitter A Good Place To Market?

I have been on twitter for a few months now, and I try to tweet once a day, just to keep myself in the loop.  I find there are so many people on twitter trying to sell their home business or mlm, that I don’t even know how to weed them out.

Has anyone had luck on marketing on twitter, and if so, how are you doing it?

Keep Your Home Business Going

As summer approches, it is very easy to get out more and want to enjoy the warm summer days with friends or family.  While this is important as it helps refresh the body and mind, be careful not to let your home business take the same vacation!

Whatever your home business, you must keep your momentum going or risk a backwards turn, especially if marketing and internet marketing are keys to your home business success.

Take time for yourself, but make sure your home business continues in good shape so you can continue to  allow your home business to give you that time.

The New Career–Thinking Outside The Box

0
Digg me

I was just sitting here after taking my mother to lunch for Mother’s Day thinking how different things are now than we she was my age.  She and my father believe, and still believe, that you must plan for your retirement by putting money in a tax shelter or IRA and work long enough at a company to get a pension or social security.
She knows that I plan on leaving teaching in the next year as my new career as an entrepreneur and home business owner takes off.  But she is worried…”You won’t get the retirement benefits unless you teach until you are 60″, and “What if it doesn’t work out, could you still go back to teaching?…don’t cut your ties”

Oh…mom…

The days are gone that people can actually live off a retirement package that is put together by an employer and 401Ks, while I do have one, is not necessarily going to save me.
The point is, I don’t want to work until I’m 60 at a job I don’t love to retire with just enough to live on, but not enough to really LIVE!

This is the perfect opportunity to think outside the box and create a business that will not only sustain you, but will also support the creation of wealth like no regular job or pension can.
This is a changing philosophy from what our parents thought and it takes guts and committment to make it happen…
but then look at what we will have to offer our children for their life choices!
